DStv Explora – Connected Box Tutorial – WiFi with WPS

Want to connect to your DStv Explora to your home internet? Is your decoder in a different room to your router and too far to run an ethernet cable between the two? Then you will need a DStv WiFi connector to connect your Explora and router wirelessly.

Firstly, check whether your router has a WPS button. If yes, keep watching this tutorial.
If not, watch the tutorial showing you what to do if your router doesn’t have a WPS button.

To start, place your DStv WiFi connector next to the DStv Explora and not on top of it. Take the power cable supply and connect the USB input into the decoder. Plug the other side into the power input of the WiFi connector. Wait for the power LED on the front of the DStv WiFi connector to change to white.

Connect Your DStv WiFi Connector to the Internet

Press the WPS button on your router. Then press the WPS button on the DStv WiFi connector and wait 2 minutes. The WiFi LED on the front of the DStv WiFi connector will flash and then change to solid white once an internet connection has been established.

Next, plug your ethernet cable into the green ethernet port on the back of your Explora. And plug the other side into the DStv WiFi Connector. Now use the Connectivity Checker on your Explora to confirm that you are connected to the internet. Press Help, select Tools, select Connectivity Checker, and press OK.

Next you will need to switch on the Connected Services. The default setting for all connected services is off. You will need to manually select the services that you want enabled. Press the blue DStv button on your remote. Select Settings, select User Preferences, select Connected Services. And then choose which services you want on and which you want off.

That’s it! You’re connected, and rearing to go. Visit dstv.com/GetConnected for more information.
