1. Pay DSTV via Self Service

You can pay DSTV online using DSTV’s  online self service website. Click here to visit DSTV’s self service website.

You can check your DSTV balance on the self service website to see how much you owe and then pay the correct amount straight from the website.

To pay DSTV through the self service portal click on the “Pay Now” button from your dashboard.

You will be taken to a page that shows the amount you owe and displays a number of options for how to pay.

You can choose from Instant EFT, Credit Card, Debit Order, Snapscan, Zapper, Masterpass or Online Banking.

2. Pay DSTV via their mobile app

You can download the mobile app from the Google Play store or Apple App Store.

3. Pay DSTV through an Internet Payment ( EFT )

You can pay for your DStv account by using an EFT.

 

To find out how much you owe, you can view your balance on your Account dashboard or dial *120*68584# from your mobile phone.

 

Then go to your banks internet banking website, or their app on your mobile phone and add Multichoice as a new beneficiary. To do this, choose MultiChoice from the list of pre-approved beneficiaries on your bank’s internet banking website. Use your eight-digit MultiChoice customer number as the payment/beneficiary reference.

 

If you don’t bank with major banks your payment may take up to 48 hours to reflect.


For your convenience, if your services have been disconnected and you have paid the correct amount, we will reconnect you automatically once the payment reflects.

4. Pay DSTV Online Account With A Credit Card

You can either use the DSTV self service website to pay via a credit card and check your balance at the same time. Alternatively you can use a credit card at any DStv Service Centre or DStv Agency near you.

5. Pay DSTV via USSD Technology

If you bank with FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank or Absa, you can now pay your DStv subscription and top up your BoxOffice account from your mobile.

Simply dial the following number, depending on who you bank with, and follow the steps to pay.

  • Reply 1 for buy
  • Reply 7 for PayTV
  • Reply 1 for DStv
  • Enter your smart card or customer number for Dstv
  • Reply 1 for Pay amount due

If you are a DStv subscriber on one of the DStv Packages then you have the option to connect your Showmax to your DStv account as well as your Explore and watch Showmax through your DStv decoder. This means that you can opt to pay for Showmax as part of their monthly DStv bill.

Depending on what package you subscribe to you can either get Showmax for Free or pay the full amount.

All other DSTV package subscribers below DStv Compact need to pay the full amount for their Showmax account, but they can still connect it to their account and decoder.

It is quick and easy to connect your Showmax to your DStv account.

  10. Enter the OTP and accept the T&Cs.

How Do I Connect  Showmax To My DStv Account If I Am Already A Showmax Subscriber?

If you already have a Showmax subscription and you pay via a credit, cheque card or Paypal subscription, then login to your Showmax account and change your payment method to “Add to DStv Account”.

Note: If you have added your Showmax subscription to another partner account or bill such as Telkom, Vodacom or MTN, you will need to cancel the current payment method and then reactivate your subscription by selecting “DStv add to account”.

3. Set up a debit order to pay your DSTV account.

You can make your DSTV payment simple and easy and always on time by setting up a debit order for your account.

To set up your debit order, click on the button below and it will take you to the page on DSTV Self Service where you can do this and just follow the step by step process.

i. Select the DSTV Account Number from the dropdown list.

*If there is no account number you will need to contact DSTV in order to proceed.

ii. Select your payment option from “Debit Order” or “Cash”. Choose Debit Order.

7.Direct Deposit Through ABSA

You can pay DSTV via direct deposit from an ABSA branch or ATM. 

ABSA Branch: MultiChoice is already a pre-approved beneficiary. All you have to do is give the bank teller your eight-digit MultiChoice customer number.

ABSA ATM: MultiChoice is already listed as one of the service providers. Just select the option and follow the instructions to make payment.

Retrieve the amount due for payment online, or dial *120*68584#.

8. Pay DSTV At Your Local Supermarket

You can pay your DSTV account at your local supermarket. You can pay at any of these locations:

  • PEP
  • Pick n Pay
  • Shoprite
  • Checkers
  • Ackermans
  • Spar
  • Shoprite/Checkers

When making a payment, you will need to provide your DStv Customer Number as your reference, as well as the code 11374 before your customer number. So, if your DStv Customer Number is 12345678, when paying, the reference number will be 1137412345678.

Pay at any store with a Kazang© or Flash© point of sale device

Apart from various supermarkets, you can pay for your DStv account at any store that has a Flash or Kazang point of sale device. If you see any of the below signs at a store it means you will be able to pay for your DStv account there.

NB! Payments made at stores must be made at money-market counters using your eight-digit MultiChoice customer number as the reference. 

9. DSTV Walk In Centers

DStv walk-in centres are located in Cape Town, Durban and Randburg. For Pretoria customers, DSTV is in Menlyn. You can visit the Aerial & Satellite Excellence store – Shop 44, Waterglen Shopping Centre.

Alternatively, you can check your balance & pay, clear errors, upgrade & more using our WhatsApp Self Service option, save our number 060603788 & say ‘Hello’ to get started.

DStv Agencies

  • DStv Agencies are located in various places nationwide.
  • Only credit card or debit card payments are accepted at MultiChoice Agencies, no cash payments or cheques are accepted.
  • Decoder insurance payments are not accepted at DStv Agencies, only via the self-help kiosk.

DStv Self Service kiosks

DStv Self Service kiosks are available at the Cape Town, Durban and Randburg walk-in centres and DStv Agencies nationwide. The kiosks enable customers to make DStv payments and view payment transactions and are designed to process card payments.

The kiosks accept debit cards with 3D secure chips and pin verification. Customers can also use credit card payments including American Express. The machines do not print out receipts but give customers an option to choose between receiving confirmation via an email or SMS.

MultiChoice has released an updated price list for DStv subscriptions for 2020, with several packages getting an increase.

Updated fees will take effect from April 1, 2020.



What is DSTV Price Lock?

Multichoice has introduced DSTV Price Lock which allows subscribers to some money by locking in their monthly payment amount for 24 months.

This allows you to skip any price increases that may arise during the price lock period. Once the price lock period expires new prices become applicable for renewing your monthly subscription or new price lock rate.

You can also use Price Lock if you are using another decoder with XtraView and linking the two decoders.

Step 2- From here you can set a reminder or a recording and make sure you catch it next time it is on.

Step 3- Press the blue DStv button on your remote to get to DStv Central for a quick look at the latest Box Office and Catch Up shows.

Step 4- Or if you want to go straight to Box Office, just press the green button to go directly to the Box Office menu to rent a movie of your choice. Or press the Catch Up button, to catch up on any series, movies, sports, and more that you might have missed. Easy to find thanks to the categories and program picture displays.

Do you sometimes feel like you’re not getting the full picture from your tv? Or that your soccer ball is looking more like a rugby ball?

Depending on the DStv channel or program that you are watching, you may want to change the aspect ratio setting on your decoder, so that you are getting the best display possible. It’s really easy to do.

If you have a newer decoder

Step 1- Press the shift and TV Guide buttons on your remote to access the ARC or Aspect Ratio Settings.

Setp 2- Then select the one that works best for you.

If you have an older decoder

Step1- Press the Menu button,

Step 2- Select Advanced Options, followed by TV Installations.

Step 3- Select TV Installations for TV 1

Step 4- Select the Aspect Ratio and mode viewing setting of your choice.

If you have a wide screen television just make sure that it is not set to automatically adjust the picture as this will clash with your decoder settings.

How to reboot your DSTV Decoder

If you experience any of the following problems:

  • an unresponsive decoder
  • frozen picture
  • no audio or video
  • missing channels
  • incorrect channel order
  • or no programming information

Try the following as a possible first step to fixing the issue:

1.Switch the DSTV decoder off at the plug, wait a few seconds, then switch it on again. And your decoder will do the rest.

How to set remote recording

Step 1- Log on to the TV Guide on the DStv Now app or from dstv.com.

Step 2- Type in your Connect ID.

Step 3- Choose the program you want to record and select record. You will receive a confirmation message to confirm the recording.

If there’s already a recording in progress at the same time, the remote recording will take priority.
The Explora will automatically delete any conflicting recordings and try to reschedule whenever possible.

If your decoder is in the same room as your router, the easiest way to connect it, is to use an ethernet cable. Follow the easy steps below and get connected to the internet.

Step 1- Plug the ethernet cable into the green ethernet port on the back of your decoder.

Step 2- Plug the other side of the ethernet cable into an ethernet port on your router.

Step 3- Use the connectivity checker to make sure that you a connection has been established with the internet.

Step 4- Press Help, select Tools, select Connectivity Checker and press OK.

Step 5- You will need to switch on your connected services. The default setting for all connected services is off. You will need to manually select which of the services you want enabled.

To do this, simply press the blue DStv button on your remote. Select settings, select User Preferences, select Connected Services. And then choose which services you want on, and which you want off.

  1. DStv Wifi Connector - How to connect to Explora OldPrint the check list off the DStv website for a step by step guide. If your decoder and router are too far apart to run a cable between them, you need a DStv Wifi Connector. If your decoder does not have a WPS button, click to this tutorial. Otherwise, follow the steps here.

 

2. Connect the decoder and DStv Wifi Connector with the USB cable. The power LED on the front of the DStv Wifi Connector will change to white. Do not put the DStv Wifi Connector on top of the decoder, place it next to it.

Want to connect to your DStv Explora to your home internet? Is your decoder in a different room to your router and too far to run an ethernet cable between the two? Then you will need a DStv WiFi connector to connect your Explora and router wirelessly.

Firstly you need to check whether your router has a WPS button. If it has then you need to watch the tutorial showing you what to do if your router has a WPS button. If not, keep watching this tutorial.

If your router does not have a WPS button

Step 1- Set up your laptop close to your router

Step 2- Make sure your laptop is connected to the internet

Step 3- Place your DStv WiFi connector next to the DStv Explora and not on top of it

Step 4- Take the power cable supply and connect the USB input into your laptop

Step 5- Plug the other side into the power input of the WiFi connector

Step 6- Plug your ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the back of your laptop

Step 7- Plug the other side into the DStv WiFi Connector

Step 8- Open a web browser on your laptop and type http://dstvwifi.local/ in the address bar

Step 9- Select your specific router from the list

Do you have your favourite show you don’t want to miss and forgot to set the recording before leaving the house?
No worries! If you’ve connected your DStv Explora to the internet, you can use your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop to set your recording while you’re out and about.

How to do that?

Step 1- Log on to the Tv Guide using the DStv Now app.

Step 2- Type in your connect ID and choose the show you want to record. Recordings can be set up to 8 days in advance.

Step 3- Click to record and that’s it. You will receive a confirmation of your remote recording within a few seconds.

Please remember that remote recordings are given the highest priority on your Explora.
So any conflicting scheduled recordings will be cancelled. The good news is that your Explora will try to reschedule these cancelled recordings wherever possible. There’s no limit to the number of recordings you can schedule. As long as you have enough recording space available. So keep an eye on how much available space you have left.

It’s a good idea to keep the Auto Delete feature switched on, as this automatically delete older unlocked recordings from your playlist, to make space for new recordings.
