You can fix the E16 error quick and easy from the DStv self-service website. Make sure you switch on your decoder and insert your Smartcard before continuing.
Press the MENU button on your DStv remote control and next press 4 to check your messages. Make sure you have paid your DStv account before reactivation. After you’ve sent payment follow the steps below.
- Select the applicable error code from the drop down list. In this case – E16
2. If applicable select your decoder.
3. Follow the steps highlighted in the instructions.
Use the form to reset the error online. Type in your Smartcard Number and Surname. Click on Fix Now.
Alternatively to reset it via USSD you can dial *120*68584# and follow the instructions.
